Something’s coming…

I haven’t posted in a while. We’ve been busy! The Butler Opera Center has opened and closed its production of the Prologue to Ariadne auf Naxos and the chamber orchestra version of Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde. This was huge for us – the poetry, the compositions, and the topics they handle are enormous. Our singers, orchestra, and directing staff accomplished so much. I’m left so proud of them, and once again in touch with why I love this repertoire. It demands so much of us, and rewards us so profoundly when we take it on.

I spent another week in Washington DC with the WNO artists, and am gearing up for our big move to Ann Arbor. It’s a crazy time. I’ve also been thinking about how I’d like to to refocus my attention on this blog. I’m going to reinstate the Slow Listening series, and hopefully get some other discussions going here as well. I know you all are reading, but I would love to get some comments flowing as well. There’s news just around the corner as well about summer 2015.

All that is just to say that there’s much to look forward to, and I hope you’ll stay with me!
