I am thrilled to find out tonight that our production of Ariadne on Naxos from the 2014 Glimmerglass festival has been nominated for an International Opera Award! We’re in the category of “Richard Strauss Anniversary Production” alongside productions from Glyndebourne, the Royal Opera, the Dresden Festival – it’s pretty exclusive company, and I am proud and honored along with all of us who were lucky enough to take part! I’m absorbed in happy memories of a great collaboration, a whole collection of directors, singers, instrumentalists, and a whole creative team that brought this piece together. I return to those memories often, but it’s nice on top of all that to see that group be honored. Congrats, all you denizens of that wonderful barn – and the goats too!
