God that’s good

Dress rehearsal of Sweeney Todd! Everybody acquitted themselves well; now it’s time for an audience. Our small theater is being used ingeniously – chorus in the house, chorus in the balcony, murdered choristers descending into the orchestra pit. What a week it’s been, rehearsals every night and now performances Friday and Sunday – not very different than most opera houses these days. I am so proud of the Butler Opera Center – world premieres in October and December, and now one of Sondheim’s toughest works. Rest well everybody, and merde for opening night…

(This is me with the Beggar Woman and Johanna. We’ve been Sweeneybombed.)
